Who We Are
The Golden Bog Farm is a small, sustainable farm nestled in the heart of the Greater Sax-Zim Bog of Northern Minnesota. Our name is inspired by one of the ancient archaeological sites in Ireland. Our farm carries forward a tradition of deep respect for the land. The name also evokes the golden hues of tamarack trees and goldenrods in the fall, a reminder of nature's vibrant cycle.
At The Golden Bog, we believe that farming is more than just a way of life—it’s a responsibility to protect and nurture the earth. We are dedicated to regenerative farming practices and committed to honoring both the land and its people.

What We Grow & Raise
At The Golden Bog, we embrace sustainable farming practices with a focus on no-till, pesticide-free gardening. We grow a diverse range of fresh, seasonal produce including leafy greens, cucumbers, squash, herbs, and more. Additionally, we raise a small herd of cattle and a flock of chickens, using rotational grazing to support soil health and promote biodiversity.
Our farming practices are rooted in the belief that cultivating healthy land nurtures healthy communities. We focus on creating a farm that provides for both the land and its creatures. With fieldwork primarily done by hand, we maintain a close, mindful connection with the earth.
We offer our farm-grown produce locally in Duluth, Cotton, and Meadowlands, striving to make our harvests accessible, affordable, and sustainable for all. Our farming methods are built on respect for ecosystems, focusing on healthy, pesticide-free food that nurtures both the land and its people.

Sustainability & Practices
At The Golden Bog, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We practice no-till gardening and rotational grazing to support soil health, enhance biodiversity, and minimize our environmental impact. Our vegetables and herbs are grown without pesticides or chemicals, ensuring that our food is as healthy for the planet as it is for you.
With a background in native plant restoration, we incorporate local ecotype native plants into our gardens and landscape, fostering wildlife habitats while growing food for our community. Bogs are one of the world’s greatest carbon storage ecosystems, and preserving them is essential for climate resilience. Our regenerative approach helps build long-term ecological stability while ensuring access to fresh, locally grown produce.
We strive to create a thriving, balanced ecosystem where both people and wildlife can flourish.
